28 degrees. Overcast, slight breeze. Squizzle was working at a small hole in the ice. He's collecting critters, water bugs (copepods, fragilaria, pediastrum, etc) from the water under the ice covering the small pond. The water temperature is 32.2 F according to his digital thermometer. The Cardinal was singing around post 200 again today. Ranger Jean reports that the Loch Fresh Monster has been spotted near the switchbacks.
