Fresh Pond Reservation

Definitely Spring temperatures today. These leaves look blurred because, at just the moment this photo was taken, one of Fresh Pond's friendly dogs placed his front paws on my back as I was crouched down aiming the camera. Two male ducks fighting over a female at post 892. Walkers are advised to stop at post 1290 and view the mushrooms growing on a Paper Birch. At post 111, on a Betula papyrifera, there are indications that the local rabits are living off the bark of trees. Ranger Jean informs me that the South side of Fresh Pond Reservation, or Huron Avenue, is still frozen, while the North side is largely thawed.
