Fresh Pond Reservation

32 degrees. Alternating sun and clouds. Very windy. This explains all the drifting snow pictures. Wind chill made it very cold today. A few well dressed people and their dogs were out. On the way back we cut across the soccer field. The snow is a foot deep in some places. Cassady turns back and heads over to the gate where we normally enter the park for walking in a counter-clockwise direction. I keep pushing on because of the drifts and blowing snow and what nice pictures they make. But Cassady won't be dissuaded. I call her a number of times, but she won't step back into the snow. Who can blame her? She's in her 16th year, which is quite old for a dog of any size. So I join her to make the rest of life easier.
